Very nice looking set!! Congrats! If you like the shave that gives you, you will love how an OCMM shaves. I strongly encourage you to try one.

Thanks IOSS, I need to hone my skills a little bit more before I am ready for the toothy critter.

Thank you. I still have some life on the blade in the HFT, but I may pull that one into pit row to make room for this lovely lady.

papabear,
I really doubt you will "need" any open comb micromatic, after getting that hang of a damaskeene. I understand wanting to own every SE possibe, but from a shaving perspective... the DAMASKEENE CANT BE BEAT Agressiveness isnt everything. Most importantly, enjoy using that beauty. At last count I owned 5 , i think.

Looks pretty darn good. Those old Damaskeene blades are a work of art, I'd love to have shaved with one when it was brand new, just to see how it would compare to the blades made today.

Tom,
I have several NOS dammy blades... popped the hairs off my arm just like a new pella does. Ultra sharp.

Nice razor!
My results with the old blades haven't been good either. Even a NOS Valet that I though would work since they are packaged so incredibly well. That too was no good. But the machined old SE blades look incredible. I can't imagine machining a blade, could you imagine what it would cost today?

Very nice specimen! I wouldn't worry too much about rushing to the OCMM. The dammy, as has been mentioned, is a wonderful shaver. I might get heck for this, but, it totally blows the OCMM out of the puddle!
Of course, ymmv.
