Greetings Monday 3rd June 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Damaskeene OC Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Vulfix 406 Boar Soap: N.S.S. Olive Oil Recipe Marzipan Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A really lovely shave. This soap is one of the most slippery soaps that I have tried and it leaves the skin feeling very soft and smooth, do doubt at least in part due to the Olive Oil. I like it very much. Regards Dick.

Greetings Thursday 6th June 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM 1912 Damskeene Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Omega 39 Boar Cream: T.O.B.S. Sandalwood Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A wonderful shave. That's the end of my tub of TOBS Sandalwood, I have enjoyed the scent and it's ease of lathering but will not be purchasing it again, but only because there are so many other TOBS creams I wish to try, especially the rose. I am really enjoying using my Damskeenes and have promoted them to second place in my top few favourite safety razors; just a fraction behind the OCMM. Regards Dick.

06 June 2013Razor: GEM OCMM + Pella PTFE (11) Brush: WSP Stubby SuperFine Soap: Green Mountain Soap -- Balsam Spice AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite test Let me start by saying that despite what follows I had a really good shave this morning. That should say a lot about this soap. As you can see in the picture I have yet to get this soap to lather into a dense cream. It stays quite bubbly and thin. The picture is what remained in my brush after 2 passes. I loaded the brush for 2 minutes after presoaking the entire puck in hot water while I showered. My water just doesn't play nice with this soap. I do expect that I can overcome this with distilled water (which I don't want to use on a regular basis), a water softener (want one but it will be a while before it's feasible), or by grating the puck so I can load more soap quicker. Currently my grater is packed away as we prepare to move so this is my last use of GMS until I get moved and can grate it. The fact that I still had a pretty good (albeit not as enjoyable) shave with this thinner lather speaks pretty highly for how good I think this soap can be. I'm not there with it personally just yet but as long as your water isn't rock hard I would suggest you think about giving this soap a try.

Saturday, 8 June
Gem OCMM CVS CS Blade (7) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Florida Water
The OCMM was very well behaved today - I'd even characterize the shave as mild, albeit extremely effective. I attribute this to the well broken-in blade. I picked up a bottle of Florida Water for $3 at the local international grocery. It's very refreshing but I'm not all that wild about the scent. Fortunately, it seems to be fading quickly. I'm going to keep it in my rotation but I doubt that it'll ever be one of my favorites.

Sunday June 9
GEM beveled cover closed comb Damaskeene Treet CS Blade (1) Vulfix#1 Boar Brush Edwin Jagger menthol soap Barbon AS
Pretty good shave with this razor. Not as close as a 1912 but for me but closer than the curved cover Damaskeene. This razor isn't much to look at but works great.
