02 July 2013Razor: EverReady Streamline Blade: Pella PTFE (3) Brush: Wet Shaving Products Stubby SuperFine Soap: Martin de Candre -- Signature (90) AS: Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum -- Hip Flask Spending some quality time with the Streamline and really enjoying it. Also, I couldn't believe how long it has been since I last used the Signature scent MdC. Thankfully Martin didn't hold any grudge and performed as expected; splendidly!

Valet VC2 Feather SE blade (day 7 and finished) Omega 49 Pro QCS unscented soap Witch Hazel
The Feather was on its last legs but managed to go out with style. I probably could have pushed it a couple three more, but I've never been obsessed with setting blade endurance records. A satisfying shave all round. Although I've always had good experiences with the QCS croaps, this was my first experience with a QCS soap and I like it.

Henckels Wotan fresh off a vintage Coticule. Picked up the - more or less - matching hybrid slurry stone whilst on site. Still looking for a blade with the Wotan logo. In the meantime, a Rapide blade will have to do. Two months of testing suggest that an Allegro Model E can indeed be used to maintain a blade like this for a very long time. I simply refreshed the blade to test whether it could be made even sharper, but it seems I have maxed out its sharpness, at least using a Coticule. A synthetic hone or diamond (spray|paste) might achieve that, but at the cost of a more unstable edge. Some people like that, I do not. I like things that simply work. The 35mm Thäter 4125-6 is actually becoming my favourite. Whipping up copious amounts of Green Mountain Soap Cheaha into rich, creamy lather took less than 30 seconds. Law of large numbers: This soap is easy to lather consistently once you have got the hang of it. No aftershave needed due to its superior skin healing properties. Overall, a rather decent shave of the day.
