For quite some time now I have been searching for a lather catcher. With extreme patience I was able to land one recently. Luckily my patience paid of in a very big way! I was able to snag one (in excellent condition) with the box (in good shape) along with the stropping attachments (in very good condition). The case included the instruction booklet and five of the original blades two are missing. I am amazed at how pristine the razor itself is!
Of course I had to try the razor as soon as I could. Currently, I own 13 SE razors and have tried them all except for one. Luck struck me twice since I was recently able to acquire a Gem Damaskeene (also in great condition with the case). At this point it is still out for delivery so I haven't been able to try it. Out of all the SE razors I've tried the OCMM has been the one to come out on top that was UNTIL the Gem Junior Bar came along.
This is one fantastic shaver! I feared it would be aggressive and would just end up as part of my collection but I was wrong. It sheared my thick facial hair easily thoroughly for a razor so small and light I couldn't believe it. Maybe it was my growing experience with SE's but I didn't have any trouble getting the angle right (almost instinctively). All I can say is that this shaver is smooth as butter on par with the OCMM but more gentle. Yes, I know everyone has a different experience with different razors.
My only two small gripes are not related to the razor itself. I wish I had the missing two original razor blades though I think it will be impossible to find them. The other one is a concern. The top and bottom part of the box is being held by the very thin cloth inside the box that is showing signs of tearing. The leather has cracked outside of the box where the top and bottom compartments connect, I don't know if that can be repaired. Even with this the box itself by in general in very good condition. I'm happy to have gotten a Gem Junior Bar in excellent near mint condition and most importantly how great of a shaver it is! Now I have the urge to land more lather catcher razors.
