That nothing goes as planned? Well I tried to make an Uberlather using Speick shaving stick and cream. I did my usual prep, hot shower, emu oil preshave and a warm scuttle. The lather looked just about right and felt warm and creamy on my face. I decided to break out the Clog-Pruf and loaded it with a new blade. I ran the razor under hot water to warm the metal up a bit and proceeded to shave. Well the first pass with the grain was ok, but not as smooth as I remebered from this razor. The ATG pass was next. Holy crap, lots of red flowing juice along my neck from a half of dozen nicks. Not to be out done or throw in the towel like I should, I went with a XTG pass over my areas which have very stubborn whiskers. Yank, pull, grate and a few bad words later I was done with one of the worse shaves I have had in years. Using MM Clog-Pruf in the past always gave me a decent shave. I don't know if I rushed something or had the wrong angle on the razor, but the cheese grating I received was discouraging. It may have been my Uberlather was Uber-poop. Either way, thank God for Thayers Rose Witch Hazel and Brian's Bay Rum, which took the sting out of my shave. I can hear one particular member here saying, "I told you so about that Junkomatic stuff."

Pbear, maybe you got a bum blade? It happens sometimes. I don't know what to tell you other then once in a while it just doesn't work like it should. Interestingly enough, the Clog Pruf never works well for me. You mentioned a "cheese grating" effect well that's how the Clog Pruf feels to me all the time. Maybe it was just a bad blade in the end?

Drumz, It is all together possible that I have a bum blade even though this is a medical blade. I will swap the blade out with a known good one and try it again, of course, after I heal up a bit.

Yup. I bet if you change the blade the sun will start shining your wife and dog will come back... Oh wait that is what happens when you play a redneck country song backwards. Anyway I bet the shave will be right with a different blade.

I'm dancing with glee. I have much better dance moves than my relatives in the you tube videos you be assured. I have a great explanation for your problem. It was the Micro"Junk"omatic frying your brain. Any experienced wet shaver knows that when a shave goes bad like yours did the first place to look for a solution is changing out the blade. I have had brand new blades, both DE and SE tear me up in the first couple passes. Just switch out the blade (after having the stitches inserted ) and shave away on the rest of the face. But in your case it seems that the mojo with the Micro"Junk"omatic trying to convince you that you will get a good shave made you believe what was happening happened. So I suggest that you junk the Micro"Junk"omatic for good and next time that happens you will realize that it is the blade that needs changing.

As far as the Clog-Pruf is concerned, I agree with Possum. I couldn't get a single wtg stroke without my skin burning. I guess it has to do with blade placement behind the bar. I do much better with an OCMM.
