Cracked open my puck this morning and thought it was time to try this soap out. I love collecting things, but I'm a firm believer in using these vintage items as well. I lathered it up with my B&B Essentials Boar brush. This soap is so good! It lathers very easy and really exploded in my bowl. The lather was rich and creamy. It gives a nice slickness and good cushion. I absolutely love the scent. I've heard others say it put them off, but I really like it. (The individual would have to attest to their affinity to the scent.) I shaved with my ER Streamline and GEM SS PTFE blade. I enjoyed an incredibly nice shave. No nicks or burn at all. Just a great shave and that Safari scent was wonderful. I highly recommend this soap to anyone looking for a great vintage soap. I liked it so much, I purchased a back up puck. If you've used this or use it in the future, please let me know your thoughts!

It sounds familiar, who makes it? Ralph Lauren Safari Soap. However, as is the case with a great things shaving related...it is discontinued.

It is a great soap. It's the closest thing I've found that compares to the old vintage soaps (Williams, Colgate, etc.). It's a hard shave soap that is "soap", not cream. Very tallowy, rinses clean, and great skin protection. Unfortunately my puck has lost most of the scent but I can still smell it faintly; a great scent.

Sorry that yours has lost some scent. It's a great scent. My two pucks both have a lot of scent to them. Glad you liked the shave. It's a great tallow soap. I wish it were still made.
