If you had to pick just one SE razor out of your many, which one would it be?
I'm going to cheat, you can too. For me this is like picking out a favorite child. I can't pick just one. But if I had to it'd probably be the OCMM or the Damaskeene. Toss a coin, both different, both fantastic.
The original question still stands if you have a fav', but I'll open it up to... I tend to like and use aggressive razors far more than any other type. The OCMM, the 1912, Lather Catchers (I haven't used one yet that wasn't aggressive), shovelhead, probably others that I can't remember off the top of my head.
Yet I also love the Damaskeene and I wouldn't put that in the same category as an aggressive razor, but it sure does give a close shave. It's a real standout razor IMO. Working like an aggressive razor while appearing to be mild mannered. A sort of Super Razor; like Clark Kent. (Young whippersnappers might not get that reference.)
So that's the gist of this. If you have a clear favorite, tell us. If you only have a foggy idea of a favorite (like me), tell us that as well. Why is also helpful, but not required. Let's just have fun with it.

If I could only have one, it would be the OCMM. I remember the "old days" when the mere mention of a Micromatic would spark flames on the side of DE fans as well as the small handful of SE users on the bigger forums. It's been nice not only to see SE move into the light, but specifically the OCMM has more and more fans every day! We've been through too much not to pick it as my favorite.

Just one.. the 1910 Gem Junior. Great shaving razor. No other way to say it.

This is always a really hard question for me as I tend to love em all! I think I have to go with the Gem Junior Bar LCs (1900/1901 patents) on a two piece metal handle. The length of handle is just right for me and the blend of precision and just plain old great looks gets me every time I load one up. Although.......

Early Gem Cutlery 1912 Damaskeene. In my not so humble opinion this is the single best razor ever designed.

"Early Gem Cutlery 1912 Damaskeene", OK, I'm intrigued. What would you say, makes this razor so special? AND, before I put an add in the WTB section and waste everyone's time (hehe) just how rare is this razor and what is a ball park figure one should expect to pay for this razor.
As always, that's for your patience in answering my stupid new guy questions.

As much as I love and use the CP, I'd say it'd have to be the OCMM for me. All of the SEs are great but the OCMM consistently gives me the closest shave. ________ Jeff

Good for you John! That didn't take long at all.
Just curious, what did you pay? If you don't want to divulge, that's OK.
Keep looking at the auction items, a Damaskeene will turn up before you know it. Of course the seller probably won't know it's a Damaskeene so you'll need to ask what's printed inside the head.

Brian,
I don't mind at all. It came out to $8.00 and some change including shipping. I know SEs are supposed to be a real deal compared to DEs, but at $4 each, I'll be happy to pay that all day long!
Good info on the Damaskeene. I'll just keeping checkin' out pics and see what turns up. I'm still excited to try the two SEs on the way and I have a 37C slant coming today (hopefully). That last one is only my 11th DE. See, I'm not TOO bad.....grin.
I'm keeping 5 straights and selling 14. Might post a few on here in the BST if you think there would be any interest?

That's about what I pay too, they're incredibly low cost compared to the quality.
I have no idea about the str8s. Ask a mod'.

Probably the 1919 Star lather catcher. Otherwise the Gem 1912. Or the OCCM. Or...

It would certainly NOT be any kind of GEM Micro"JUNK"omatic. ;D
Most likely would be my 1907 GEM Jr Bar Razor.
