Hello everyone. I just wondered what everyone's top brands are these days.
I've pretty much been stuck on either T&H or TOBS creams for the past six months.

I am a Williams guy. But most here know that. TOBS rose is one of my favorite creams.

Just wanted to add that ShadowsDad sent me a sample of P160 and I think I could really do with more of that stuff.

I've been blessed with great water,I mostly use Williams and have only recently started experimenting with some cream samples I received several months ago but had never tried.I was very impressed with Lab Series Maximum Comfort Shave Cream for building super-lather,just purchased a full size tube at a local Ulta shop this past Tuesday.

I used to live near one of Berlin's (and probably Europe's) best equipped shaving stores and was allowed to take home a few products for testing each week-end. As a result, I have some strange products at the top of my favourite list. Soaps: - Scottish Fine Soaps (like Mitchell's Wool Fat, only better, yet reasonably cheap - if you live near Dunfermline, pick it up for a few pounds)
- Lorenzo Villoresi (best scent)
- XPEC - Original Shaving Soap (best overall soap)
Creams: - Esbjerg Verbena (best price/performance)
- Castle Forbes Lemon (best overall cream)
- Penhaligon`s Blenheim Bouquet (beautiful jar, outstanding cream)

So many good ones.
My favorites, cost not being a factor: MdC P.160 Klar Siefen
There are so many other really good ones that I'd basically just be copying the names from the shave cabinet here. Not all are expensive either.
Wayne, last I heard Italian Barber still had P.160 Morbido in 150 gram tubs. But it's been awhile since I read that. If anyone has any for sale he does. If I see of any for sale do you want me to let you know? I saw some P.160 Duro not long ago on another forum and I don't know that it sold. The Duro version is harder than the Morbido that I sent you, so I've been told.

I use soaps almost exclusively, vintage soaps probably 98-99% of the time. My favorite brands are Williams, Colgate, Old Spice, Seaforth, Barbershop, Surrey and Rawleighs. Williams is my favorite of them all. I have some Palmolive and Burma Shave that I haven't tried yet.
In modern soaps I'd say Palmolive, Klar Kabinett and Tabac in that order.
I just simply don't have an interest in creams. I've used The Real Shaving Co, KMF and Boots. thebeav sent me some samples of TOBS that worked and smelled great, and if I were to ever use creams they would definitely be what I'd buy. Creams just don't do it for me.

I had no use for creams until I tried a nickel sized spot of it on top of modern Williams that I'd stirred up for a few seconds.Had no idea I was creating "superlather" never heard of it,just messing around and damn....It really whipped up some pretty incredible lather. If I hadn't been given samples I probably wouldn't have tried.Quality makes a difference, some creams don't add much at all, with the good stuff it seems all I need is a little to enrich my lather.

Thnx ShadowsDad. I just checked the ItalianBarber site and he does have tubs of the Morbido so I think I am going to bite the bullet and just get it done.
I see he has 1kg bricks still up, but a price of 9999.99 - so I guess they aren't inclined to sell the 1kg hunks! Besides, 1/8 kg is still a lot!
Going to do that right now.

Greetings
I mainly use soaps and my favourite is Wilkinson Sword Stick at Number 1. Lea Stick and Tabac at joint number two. Cella at number three.
None of these are expensive, I like to grate the sticks into a suitable sized container.
I find with creams that T.O.B.S. are hard to beat in terms of performance and value, they are made by Creightons at Peterborough the company that makes the excellent value Real Shaving Company cream. It is widely believed (and probably true) that Creightons make many if not most of the famous name British shaving creams, but not the hard soaps.
Regards Dick

When it's gone that's the end of the planets supply. What a shame. If you like it now's the time to buy. (Re: red text) That's a joke that he sort of hopes no one ever takes him up on. If someone does, it will come out of his private P.160 shavepocalypse stash and he'll donate the $ to charity. He feels about P.160 as I do... finest kind. But I have an almond shave croap coming in from Italy. It's so private label it isn't even on the market. It's supposed to be really primo stuff. It better be for $114/kg. If I was doing it alone I wouldn't, but I'm splitting the kilo with a gent. This stuff had better raise the dead or some such. ;D Oh well, spend it before the folks in charge collapse it.

You have access to another stick that we require UK contacts in order to get... Boots. Pretty fantastic stuff IMO. I asked my friend Jack to send me some so I have enough for a time. You have some very nice shave products available to you. Or is the grass just greener on the other side of the fence? That could be it. We do have small artisan type manufacturers who make some pretty good soaps, most of whom are under my radar. Of course we have the vintage too, and they are really good, but those are the bones of the past. Tom, vintage BurmaShave is good. Not as good as the Barbershop Pro, but good.
