I am sorry it took so long. I have gotten great shaves. Just the other day i mowed down 3 days of beard with a. 5 day old blade in a. 1912. It was starting to get rough but the shave was close and smooth.

Aha my friend this is straight from Schick: "In spite of the finely shaped blade apex, if an uncoated stainless steel blade is used to cut the hair, the friction between the cut surfaces of the hair and the steel would cause pulling and discomfort. In order to reduce this friction, the blade edges are sprayed with a coating of Vydax, a low molecular weight polymer of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with low-friction qualities similar to Teflon. The film is then melted on the blade edges and cured at temperatures over 500°F (276°C). After the first few strokes with a Vydax coated blade, the excess Vydax is peeled back from the apex of the blade and a thin layer is left on the surface to reduce friction and improve comfort. All Shaving Products Group razor blades meet high specifications for quality. Some systems may have slightly different coating characteristics or steel composition, but all are designed to enhance the shaving performance of the systems."

The more information added the better. So apparently the coating does serve a useful purpose. Good work CB!

Well, I recieved the blades and have used them in a 1912, Bullet Tip and Clog Pruf for several shaves over the past few days.
These just don't work for me at all. Plenty of tugging, pulling, skipping but little cutting of stubble. I, based on my experience, cannot say that these are good blades.
Sorry for such a report. But had to report my experience and, as always, YMMV

So far, one 'cast iron face' with a good review.....One negatory review....I'm more psyched than ever to try these bad boys...I need to break the tie... My ER '24 is pretty unblade sensitive...seems that any old thing I throw in there really swings....I threw a burnt out blade in there last week and got a great shave...I'm betting there will be some good shaves, the question is how many.....This ER '24 and I are both looking forward to the test....lol

I got a great shave from a 5 day old blade on two days growth the other day. That being said YMMV does apply to blades.

I'll need to remove the slightly used GEM blade and try a Royal. Maybe tomorrow.
Just curious... wchnu, how many shaves do you get per blade?

Same scenario though. Guess they are just not for me.
But I must also note that the blades I recieved do not resemble the ones shown in the first post pictures. The ones I got came in a box of 5 with the note on the side saying "For shaving and scraping". Maybe these are not the right ones??
BTW, has anyone found these on the "net"? I can't find any info on them.

I couldn't find any info on them either Michael.
I tried blade #1 today and there is no delicate way to put this. When I can a GEM SS ptfe after 18-20 shaves and I consider it spent, it's a better shaving blade than the first Royal blade was when new. I made 2 strokes with it and decided to cut my losses. I probably could have shaved with it, but I wouldn't have been happy with the shave experience.
On a bright note, it was better than a hardware store blade.
I have blade #2 in the ER '24 for tomorrow.

Looks like these are going to flop. I had hopes for them. I am getting good shaves from them. Maybe my beard. Don't know. Thanks for trying them out.

Hey man...YMMV rules...if you're getting good shaves then it's possible someone else may...Doesn't matter though...as long as you're getting good shaves, Thats cool....I'm still looking forward to trying them....although I may hang a lucky horse shoe above the bathroom mirror and strategically place some rabbits feet around...lol.

Exactly ! There is no area in shaving that is more subject to YMMV as blades. If they don't work for me, that doesn't mean that they don't work for you wchnu.
I used blade #2 today with the same result. I probably could get a shave from one, but I'd prefer not to if it's the only blade I had. I'd probably revert back to one shave per week or some such. I think today I figured out what's up with them. They aren't smooth. Maybe not as sharp either, but definitely not smooth. I have no idea how they'd work in the difficult areas, like the chin. I never got that far with it.
Someone needs to update the blades thread with them.
If anyone would like to try them, all I need is a PMed address and I'll send them off. There are 3 remaining.

That is all true. I will still use them. But then again I get good shaves from family dollar DE blades and drive a Dodge.

Hey Fuzz...it isn't over til it's over... or something like that...lol Got the blades in yesterday's mail!! Had already shaved so had to wait til today..... First blade had like some kind of rust or corrosion on it so I put it aside...Second blade went into my EverReady 1924. First pass was a little rough but not excessive...about like a GEM Stainless on day 6 for me... Second pass was downright smooth....Touch Up pass smooth...Except ATG around chin area a little tuggy...again about like a GEM SS on day 6 or 7... End result was an excellent DFS....I would say a pleasurable shaving experience...Not the 'Hot Knife Through Butter' like a new GEM blade on day #1...but also not like a GEM on the day where I would change it out either... I didn't want to do another pass to chase the baby though because the ATG buffing was too rough so I did a little touch-up 'buffing' with my Schick Hydro-magic; buffing machine; and upped the ante to a decent BBS... For day 1; I'd have to say for the price; my first impression is good to hopeful...I will use it again tomorrow and see what tomorrow's shave brings...Today I got a pretty effortless DFS....and it was every bit as enjoyable a using a GEM Stainless Coated on Day #6....Now I want to see how many shaves of this quality I can get from this blade...and I also want to try several more to check their consistency...
