Thursday early morning
1910 Gem Junior Gem Bluestar blade D-1 Pehhaligon's Opus 1870 cream Ever Ready 650PB Barbasol Brisk AS
Another good cream. I do not like the scent as well as some others. Reminds me of TOBS St. James. Too much of a cologne scent maybe. I will not be throwing any of it out though. Great start to the day.

Yea Fuzz, this is definitely the most "modern-ly scented" of the bunch. If it were any more "modern cologney" I probably wouldn't use it. Luckily it is comfortably enough in my range of liking. I would recommend not looking into the Endymion, same "modern" vein, but yet another one I don't mind (In this scent though, I have only smelled the EdT.) I like all of my Penhaligon's Creams, but out of all the Taylor's Cologne Creams, the only one that is "passable" to shave with is the Eton College. The others just remind me of cheap colognes. Maybe I am just crazy... or picky.

Eh. Those type of scents are not for me. I use them some. Now and then. But would not buy them. Nice cream though for sure.

- Prep: Hot shower and hot towel
- Cream: TOBS Eton College
- Brush: Knotty Roddy refurb with TGN Grade A Silvertip knot
- Razor: '07 GEM Jr LC with tubular handle and strop attachment
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated GEM SE
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner and Clubman Club Complete ASB
- Result: Darn good DFS with the TOBS cream. That is quite a contrast between the TOBS cream and the SCS I used yesterday. Great slick and cushioning lather from the former. And the razor was not a slouch either.

Sunday, March 11th
• 1919 Star No.1 • GEM stainless blade • elk-antler brush • Portland Tobacco soap • witch hazel
Great shave! The consensus on the original Original Safety board is that this is a 1919 model.

The consensus on the original Original Safety board is that this is a 1919 model. I would love to know how good the brush made of elk antlers makes lather. Seems that the elk antler hair would be a bit hard on the mug or face. All kidding aside, I for one would love to see a pix of that brush and to also know the type of knot you have in it.

Monday, March 12th
• 1919 Star No.1 • GEM stainless blade • elk-antler brush • Williams! • witch hazel
If I lather/shave a section of my face at a time, the William's Infamous Mug Shaving Soap doesn't have a chance to make my skin mad. Worked like a charm!
Possum, while tying flies a while back, I clipped a bunch of elk hair and I very briefly considered using elk/deer/moose hair for a shaving brush. It would probably draw more blood than any of my razors has (sort of like a shard of glass, a rusty pocket knife...)! I'll try to add a description and a photo of the antler-handle brush to the Brush forum when I have a chance.

Finally I was able to use another LC for LC month!
Tuesday morning:
Hot towel face prep Cella SIS Omega 10019 boar Kampfe 1913 "Cru-Steel" LC Gem SS ptfe (12) bay rum
One fantastic shave. This is my most difficult razor for me to use and this is the first really good shave I've gotten from it. It's a very aggressive, very efficient razor. Nice!
Another test of the Cella. 2nd day for that. I still don't like the scent, but if I had to I suppose I could grow to ignore it. It is less noticeable after it's lathered. It does lather like gangbusters, but it also lacks the amount of fats that make soap good on and for the skin. I'll keep the bowl I have to see if my attitude about it changes, but I strongly suspect I'll be selling 200 gram chunks of it. I have much better soft Italian soaps than this (vitos and P.160).

- Prep: Hot towel and shower
- Cream: Tabac
- Brush: C&E BBB
- Razor: '07 GEM Jr Bar LC
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated GEM (shave 5)
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & AV ASB
- Result: A DFS today. The blade seems to be going away, not as close a shave but did not have any pulling or dragging. Just love the little gem of a GEM SE. So glad we are having a special LC month so I can really experience the joys of LC shaving more often.

Incongruous juxtaposition. That's the way I roll.

Friday, March 16th
- 1919 Star No.1 - GEM stainless blade (day 5) - elk-antler brush - uber-Barbasol - witch hazel
It occurred to me to add glycerin to the Barbasol. The result was better than expected, but I'm not likely to do this again unless I'm feeling particularly avant-garde.

Great Sunday morning gents!
Vitos SIS Semogue 1438 boar EverReady 1906 LC GEM SS ptfe (13) KF bay rum
This razor never fails to deliver. I like it a lot!
I almost canned the blade, but it was just me, the blade has few more shaves in it. No blood, just sensation. BBS in 2 1/3 passes.
BTW Wayne, that's a beautiful example.
Edit: 2 1/3 passes, not 1 1/3, sheesh!

I see all the great LC action around here and was inspired this morning to change up my razor! I was going to make soap and stuff for this pic but I started taking a couple of pics, and then my computer was fighting back, and then.... So, these shots are all I could get loaded up. First I changed my mind on the brush, then I wanted to crop them a little and but my editing program is on the other computer and.... AYE CARAMBA! The digital age!!! Here ya go - fresh off the table! And crazy big (again!) 1904-1907 Comfort Rasoir de Surete - germany TP PTFE SE blade Simm 821 Badger (vintage) Edwin Jagger Sandalwood Clubman Bay Rum
