....The south will eventually win but it takes time.... Ha, ha...I was born and raised outside of DC...but spent my last 2 years of High School out side of Richmond VA...and that quote from Brian, right there, is what folks from VA used to say all the time...lol!...When I was reading, Brians post, I fell out....I know thats not what you meant...But I still fell out....we need to start an, "Out of context" post...This one would be perfect!

Im off tomorrow as well. Unfortunately itll be spent sitting in the auto shop. There is no such thing as a cheap Jag... but it turns heads like no other and looks and drives like new. Turning my head right now!! Whew, very, very beautiful.... I always thought the Schick I2 and Golden 500 J type had an Aston Martin or Jaguar thing happening, respectively...That long handle on the J type reminds me of those sexy long hoods so indicative of Jaguar styling...

birdlives it is no longer very beautiful. I hit a car the other day who was doing an illegal maneuver and his fly-by-night insurance refuses to pay. I have liability only, I will have to try to fight it. Otherwise it is going to be $1800 to replace the hood, bumper, grill, and right fender. It will still be worth it considering Its otherwise clean condition, low miles (88k) and that I've already spent $2300 to bring it up to snuff. I am a big car guy, and in VA, I could never live in, due to its extremely onerous traffic laws and enforcement.

But it's certainly worth fixing....I know it's not fair....still thats a beauty....Cars are like homes, the price to buy it will be your lowest expense...I just found out last week, I'm facing a $3000 transmission rebuild...Damn! Nah!...Your Jag is priceless my friend....What a World Class beauty... I haven't lived in VA since the late 70's.....I have no idea what the traffic laws are like...I lived in Istanbul for a while...When I first moved there I asked a friend what the speed limits were, and he said, "The maximum your car will do!"... He wasn't kidding...You could really stretch your Jag out there...Although, now things are changing there... So where are you living and driving now...Is it a good place for enjoying you wheels?

Sounds like fun. The Jag feels solid doing 90. Try doing that in an American car from the same era! Downright scary...Ill fix it, its worth it to me. Theres really nothing like it on the road. And attracts more attention than an anonymous jellybean shaped Audi or BMW which everyone up north seems to have. Ive owned it for only two months and have already met several characters asking questions about it and even offering to buy it.
But $3000? Ive heard figures closer to $1500-2000 for a transmission rebuild. Or $1000 for a junkyard one. Must be one of those CVTs... but I guess youre probably looking for an excuse to get rid of it. It happens, the novelty wears off. Just be sure to get what your heart wants. Life is too short for anything else.

Chicago has too high traffic way too much during rush hour but is otherwise fine.Parking is the real challenge especially up north. I work the night shift and so never really have any issues. Also another thing to keep in mind are the citys terrible roads full of potholes. Especially in the southside where the city doesnt seem to care because everyone is poor and black there
Cops arent so strict and everyone does 50 in a 35 mile zone.80 isnt a problem in a 65mph zone. Well for city cops or state cops it isnt. Suburban cops are something else...
If you really want to have fun go on lakeshore drive at night. Highway twisties. It is infamous for accidents aggravated by poor handling old American cars and lumbering SUVs im sure...and can be a magnet for boy racer types at night. Theres a reason for it.

We're in our rainy season where the warm moist air from the south collides with the cold air from the north. The south will eventually win but it takes time. What I'm trying to write is that we've had a great deal of rain in the last 2 weeks. I think I'm beginning to grow oily feathers. The same thing is going here in Colorado. Storm is coming this weekend, and depending on where the low center is, it could be big thunderstorms or heavy wet snow. Our was was historically dry. Snow season (jun1 cycle) last twelve months was only 19 inches of snow. It's pretty dry here anyhow, but we normally get about 50 inches. Hope we get rain, snow will damage crop plantings at this point.

I hear we are in for some weather over the next few days. Then we will be rolling into Hurricane season in June. At least no worries about snow.

Just as a heads up. I am going to be using the JR #137 as my only brush for the next month. I should have a good understanding of synthetics by the end of that period. Or at least this synthetic.

Apparently, in the bay area you must be on the lookout for "flash mobs" of "teens" Robbing people. Stay safe.
