A year and a half ago I decided to try making my own Injector. What came of that was The Bunny. It made the rounds on several forums. I am still trying to find a place to manufacture them at reasonable price. Unfortunately it is not going so good. anyhow in April of last year I started tinkering with making a truly adjustable SE. This is the first incarnation. I machined out the parts and assembled it. Unfortunately the design sucked for locking the cap. Also the adjustment mechanism was too cumbersome. So I forgot about it for a while as work got too busy. I recently have come up with a new adjuster and cap locking mechinism. I have it figured out in my mind. I just need some time to draw it up and give it a go. I have no plans on marketing it. I just want to see if I can make it. I am keeping the cap, slider and base design. Only slightly modifying them to accommodate the new locking and adjustment. Comments welcome on what you see. If it works out I will make a few to do a pass around for us serious SE users. Tom

Top like a MM? Neat. The adjustment moves the bar?

Top like a MM? Neat. The adjustment moves the bar? Actually it moves the blade forward and back. I will post more information once I see it actually works. Think along the lines of a 1924 now. This was the first version.

Pretty interesting. So is it the blade exposure that is being modified instead of the blade gap modification you see in adjustable DEs?

Pretty interesting. So is it the blade exposure that is being modified instead of the blade gap modification you see in adjustable DEs? Correct blade exposure is changing. It takes much less movement to get your desired change. Just a personal opinion, it keeps the geometry much more constant. The angle of attack of the blade remains very constant. Tom

Thanks for the clarification and extra info. Godspeed with the project.

Well, this is certainly interesting. Looking forward to your progress.
I was in on the Bunny pass around on another board and it was great. The Bunny is a nice shaving injector so I'm anticipating this one.
Good Luck!

Great work Tom, ingenious design. But then so was the Bunny.

It has been a while. I finished up the prototype today. I brought it home and learned something new. I designed the razor around a hardware store blade. As that is what I had at work. I went to load a Gem blade. Much to my chagrin, it did not fit. The center oval cutout on the hardware blade is larger than the shaving blades.
Anyhow I now need to modify my slider to get it to work on the razor. I will post a few pictures shortly.

Mind you, I have done no finish work on it. Why waste the time if it does not work. As you can see It takes some style from the 1924 and a few others. Feed back welcome, good and bad.
