Nice! I tried 30 degrees "hand held" on my 1912 yesterday and didn't like it, but maybe that's due to the 1912 (shimmed) and not the blade. I'll try it unshimmed later today... I assume your handle is integral part of the new razor - Bunny style? At first glance the handle looks a bit short for the size of the head. How long is it? I find your project much more exciting than any other of the GEM razors coming at the moment... The handle is a bit over 75mm with a diameter of 13mm The handle is separate and also functions to lock your adjustment in. Twist the handle just a bit, then move the adjustment lever to desired position. Then tighten handle to lock in place. Thats look very cleaver!

I'm puzzled now. Just had a shave with my 1912 unshimmed. As I thought, head flat on the face wouldn't work, but.. A 30 degree angle was fine. Gosh, that razor is noisy without a shim and it felt a bit more aggressive than my usual shimmed and flat on face routine, but the alum block and (very alcoholic) after shave had no complaints whatsoever. I have no explanation whatsoever.

OK, Tom. I am glad I found this thread. I hope to be one of the testers if possible. I love the Eye-gor concept.

I can tell from your avatar...your concept of shaving technique is very much like mine.... The Rabbit of Seville is a favorite of mine also. At one time I used a avatar from it too. There use to be a picture tag game over at TSD. I would throw in a pic from it every chance I could. Nothing beats classic loonie tunes in my book.

I'm sure the answer will be yes but did you look at the Wilkinson SEs, Tom - e.g. the Empire. A screw mechanism for adjustability and lovely heads - although Gem blades need adapting. I'm not too sure of the shave angle. P.S. I'm sorry to hear you're struggling to bring the Bunny to production - I was in a pass around and would snap one up in an instant
