Thursday shave The Shick is getting a workout as i do all my new razors . Blade is lasting very well too. Thinking tomorrow i will hit the William's with the boar and maybe use my home made razor . Dont panic ....its an SE model. Have a great night all. How would you compare Colgate vs. Williams? Williams has worked its way into my weekly rotation now that I've found the touch for lathering it in the water here. Colgate and other vintage soaps are also piquing my interest.

Friday's ShaveProraso Pre Shave Proraso Sandalwood Jayaruh #289 Superior Lather Catcher CVS CS SE CWS Thayer's Peach WH Barbasol AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #289 brush. I did two passes with the Superior Lather Catcher Razor with a CVS Carbon Steel SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Peach WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Edit: I did not poke my eye out when I did ATG.

Love them both actually. I can lather both no problem and find them to be slick and let the razor glide, not all thick and sticky like some other soaps. Like you say once you figure out the water equation you got it beat. Another one you got to try is Arko. I was gifted a stick and really enjoy it also. Thinking about making a shave stick with willians .

Friday 25th May Vig Shaving 28 Synth La Toja Stick Rocnel SE-P OC ½ Shark Stainless #1 Alum Wash Duru Mandarin Cologne Dove Instant Hydration Cream A rare occasion for me using a stick to face lather. The La Toja did not disappoint giving a very effective lather with ease, resulting in a very efficient shave with my Rocnel.

Pre: Cold water face wash Brush: Vulfix 404 Badger/Boar Soap: Grooming Dept Ambrosia Razor: Valet AutoStrop VC-1 Blade: De-spined Gem SS Post: Cold water rinse, Pinaud Clubman ASL The lid has been left off this soap for about 10 weeks to try and get rid of the cat pee smell and I'm glad to say the cat has finally pissed off, because this soap is very much worth rescuing. Happy Shaving one and all.

I have the 1902 Kampfe Star but really don't get on with it. With the Gem I wonder how much difference the bar makes, it would be interesting to see a direct comparison to the 1907

The Gem Junior is much easier to load. I still want to get a Junior Bar though.

It is a great combo and my favourite VC, as I'm not a fan of FHS-10 blades.
