Just having a single edge does not qualify them as SE, This is the Original SAFETY Two. I get it..SAFETY...is the key. I'm learning... Yup that is the key.

Simplicity. Just perfect results with minimal extra effort. Nothing to strop or hone.

And if you want a somewhat similar shave experience as a blade that does require honing just find a decrepit SE razor that has one foot in the grave and cut off the comb. It, must have the blade stop areas intact to cover the blade corners. It yields a shave experience similar to a Rolls (for instance) except when the blade gets dull it gets tossed. Note that it will NOT be a safety razor and the only safety is in technique and skill.
There is discussion about this in a thread containing the word "sevette".

A G1 with the bar cut off. I did not do it but it came to me that way. I likey that thing, About time to get another shave in with it. It demonstrates how technique rules the day.

This is such a quality topic...and so many poignant points have been made. Bully and Bravo to everyone posting on this. I agree with everyone here.
It really is about all of these points...
The blades are really like the middle section of a Str8...That is mounted on works of functional art...designed by geniuses to make them "Safety" razors...aswell as to hold that ridgid blade at the optimum shaving angle.
And the thing about when the blade loses it's edge...The SE blades don't tug and bite!... Thats BIG!
And the face feel after shaving.....
All of the above characteristics are shared by both SE and Injector razors.
And of course there is the audible feedback, one gets from an SE razor...I love that! Hearing each whisker getting whacked. Theres thst information exchange between the razor and the shaver. This intimate relationship definitely enriches the whole shaving experience.
And just take a gander at some of our razor porn here...There is a romance to these pieces of history..Thats an added bonus...that is also priceless! We are just lucky, that theae "original safetys" also possess all the above mentioned shaving characteristics which make them superior shaving instruments aswell as works of functional art that connect us with history. And are also just plain fun for most of us.
Sorry for the shorr novel....You guys got me going!....Hold me back....Lol!
