Hope you don't have to give up the brush making entirely. I've torn a muscle in my back 4 times now. I wish I would have done PT the first time, it may have healed better and avoided the other times. Hang in there.

Hang in there. Thanks. It is still pretty early. I see my surgeon on Wednesday. I am antsy to get moving again. I hope that I will be able to do some lathe work eventually. And welcome to TOST.

I'm assuming it's an issue with standing for long periods of time that would keep you from woodturning, could you use a stool or is that not comfortable to sit on? And thank you for the welcome.

Here's the latest news, guys. Today, I actually took a shower in the tub. I had not showered since the 4th. I have been bathing with a wash cloth with assistance from my bride. I needed assistance some today, too. We got a bench that straddles the side of the tub allowing me to sit on it and then gently move my leg into the tub. Once in, we adjusted the shower curtain and turned on the water. I got everything washed including a nice shampoo. I am excited about going back to the surgeon on Wednesday morning. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.
I shaved today and couldn't find the SOTD thread for this week, so I got to make one. Come on guys, let's see some more shaves this week.

Man it feels great to take a real shower or bath if you haven't had one for awhile. A few years ago I had detached a biceps tendon in my arm and had it reattached. For two weeks I had what was basically a cast on my arm. A few days of the washcloth bathing routine motivated me to get crazy with a garbage bag and some good tape. Where there is a will there is a way!
I had shaved so late yesterday with the TNNSER that I really didn't need a shave today, but I don't feel quite right if I don't. So I used an unmentionable that is very very mild. It really didn't do much of anything except give me the sense that I shaved so I could get on with life. Silly, but that's how I'm wired sometimes. So tomorrow, it's game on with the TNNSER and I'll make sure to capture the event.
I'm looking forward to it, but will be more deliberate and I bet I come away just as clean, but with no weepers.

Well, I started today with a great shave using Williams and my OC Damaskeene razor with CVS CS blade. I dismissed the goatee and mustache with no problem. Went to the doctor's for my post op follow up and all is well. The removed the stitches and put butterfly strips on my incision. I demonstrated how I could bend my knee, straighten it, and stuff. He was very pleased. He said he hoped I could infect his waiting room with whatever I had that made this possible. I go back in six weeks. In the meantime, I am still no weight bearing, I quit the hydrocodone, and I don't have to wear the brace. These are all good things. Thank you for your prayers and support. With stitches and without stitches. Attachments:

Apart from the (apparent) bad looks of your leg... Yes apparent. In fact the healing process is looking good... Looks like it's all good news for you. Thank God. Keep on my friend.

Glad to see the recovery is progressing. I am building a greenhouse right now and think about you just about every time I have to go up the ladder to work on it, which is A LOT.
