Monday 17th September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor GEM Micromatic OC Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Vie Long 13061M Horse Cream: T.O.B.S. Sandlewood Aftershave: Wikinson Sword Hydro Sensitive Balm
A really top notch shave this morning, the OCMM is a superb shaver I just need to go a little slower with a lighter touch when compared to my other SE's.
Regards Dick.

Tuesday 18th September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Junior Fat Handle Blade GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Omega 10810 Boar Soap: Füme Aftershave: Dove Sensitive Balm
A terrible start, it was apparent from the off that my blade had expired but like an idiot I continued for the entire first pass (because I keep my blades in the bedroom not the bathroom) I was forced to renew my blade and start again so had a four pass shave.
This model of Omega boar brush is (IMHO) useless, the loft is too short for the width of the knot which makes the brush ramrod stiff, the tips have all split and it is soft but it is too stiff to be usable!
A BBS shave eventually
Regards Dick

Tuesday 9/18
Razor: Ever Ready 1914 Blade: GEM Stainless Brush: VDH Pure Badger Lather: Arko Stick
Post: Alum, Lucido, Clarins AS Soother
Result: Great shave! Mostly BBS, with no irritation. This was my first shave with a new (to me) 1914. I have one of the older ones with the tiny blade stops and this one has the longer stops. Same great "toast buttering" sound!

Gem MMCP Gem SS/PFTE Blade (2) Made-Rite 500PB Brush C.O. Bigelow Cream Barbasol Pacific Rush
I knew this was going to be a good morning when after mowing down the two day growth of stubble on the first pass, the result was close to DFS. After the second pass, my face was smoother than it has been for ages.

That OCMM is one fine shaving tool.

Wednesday 19th September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Heavy Flat Top Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Soap: Tweex Aftershave: King of Shaves Balm
My first shave with my new (to me) Heavy Flat Top which arrived in the post yesterday, the razor required no more than a good scrub with Fairy Liquid and shone like a new pin.
First impressions are all positive, nice weight and feel, a fairly gentle shaver that on my medium beard does a perfect job. I'm really pleased with it!
Regards Dick.

The Wester gives a great shave. Blade presentation makes it adequately aggressive yet really easy to 'drive'. Enjoyable shave today!

Gem MMCP Gem SS/PFTE Blade (3) Turkish Horsehair #6 Brush Arko Shave Stick Pinaud Clubman
I got several Arko sticks and a Turkish # 6 brush in the mail yesterday from sargon. Very fast delivery and he even included a small gift even though it was anything but an expensive purchase. I was impressed by the Turkish brush; it's the first horsehair that I've tried. It served me quite well this morning even with minimal break-in. It'll be my brush of choice for the next week or so as I break it in further.

Thursday 20th September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Vie Long 13061M Horse Soap: GZD Squeezed into a container Aftershave: King of Shaves Balm
My first shave with my newly acquired Clog Pruf. My first impression is that it is a more gentle shaver than the OCMM it felt much more like the Flying Wing/Bullet Tip but it is a more efficient shaver then that. Although it is much too early to say, this model could end up as my favourite of the three Micromatics. I will need to shave with all three one each day over several days to come to a more balanced decision.
Regards Dick.

Friday 21st September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Contour Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Turkish No. 6 Soap: Kent Luxury (Mitchell's Wool Fat) Aftershave: Adidas Balm
The GEM Contour arrived in the post yesterday from the USA in far better condition than I thought (virtually mint) and it is a heavier razor than I thought it would be. A gentle but a great shave, adequate aggression to do a first class job on my medium beard but a little more touching up is required compared to the slightly 'fiercer' SE models.
Regards Dick.
