The new ER '14: It's built the same as the '14 I'm presently using with the blade stop "clips" rather than the raised bumps, and I like what I'm using now.

Nice !
Not only did you score a '14,you got a really great looking one.I have always felt they are among the most visually appealing razors.

No case. I really don't need one and didn't want to pay for one. So for me not having a case was a positive thing.

That is in nice condition - good scoop. I have to start paying attention for a couple of users of these for myself now. I miss shaving with a 1914.

RM, I put out a few WTBs with what I was looking for regarding condition. I bought that on a verbal description and asked a few questions of the gent.
I can't find anything in the wild, and I won't do e-bay anymore (maybe for a Streamline I would). I find the shave forums to be my best bet.
I have 2 Superior brand LCs coming in and I'm pretty sure they're in decent or better condition. Waits tells me they are similar to the GEM Jr. . Both were reasonably priced on a forum w/o the e-bay gamble.

My oldest razors thus far; Superior Lather Catchers, 1900 patent. The one to the left had a repaired handle that I replaced with a replate from the parts case (as seen here). Guess what I'm shaving with tomorrow?

Those are super nice!!! I have one inbound also, it has a handle like the one on the left. Is the knurled handle original? Is it hollow? Great score, one for each hand

Yes, original and hollow. It's pictured in Waits. It appears to have been built to hold a stropping extension same as the one on the left. Was it a popular practice to strop spine back blades back then? I assume it was.
The replaced handle on the left is exactly like the repaired one I took off of it, except this one is much nicer.

I would of thought that a 1900 lather catcher would of used wedge blades? I see that the Superior that I bought on eBay has a couple of Superior spine backed blades..but I dont know if they are original to the razor or not. Any idea how long Superior was around for? There seems to be quite a few spine back blade stroppers so it must of been popular
