So reading this thread has sort of enabled me to break out my pipes early as i usually enjoy them in the summer months (i did not bother at all last year?) and maybe only a bowlful a day after work sitting in the Garden. Here is most of my humble collection. The far right was my Maternal Grandfathers (i have another couple although 1 has a "punture" to the bowl from heavy cleaning (not me) i am not sure if it would be repairable, the bowls are quite large on those. The 2 straight Falcons were my passed on to me from my wife's family, The 2 Bent Stem falcons i bought, the Cob was bought during a holiday as a spare and the miniature works well for a quick toot. I do like the Falcons, i like that the humidome can be fitted with a make shift "filter" to collect any moisture made from a cut pipe-cleaner and they are very easy to clean. So an order has been placed for an old favourite (Killarney) and some new ones to try Peterson Connoisseurs Choice Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin Aston Guilty Pleasure Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin Peterson Killarney Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin Rattray's Royal Albert Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin

I'm a novice too, but I'll take a picture of my pipe acquisition disorder sometime.

A very quick delivery from my preferred tobacconist, even if he is a 150 miles plus away So i decided on the Falcon with the Rustic Billiard bowl paired with my first use of the " Royal Albert", Not the best pipe i have packed, however, with a bit of Tamping it lit OK. The smoke was quite mild and lightly scented, i did enjoy it, i may have another later or wait until tomorrow. Enjoy your bowlfuls all.

Well, this brings up fond memories.
I used to own several Falcons as well.
Come to think of it, where the hell are they now?
On the other hand, what would I do if I knew?
Sadly I think I'm better off not smoking anymore.

I have always been easily led.
As my Dad used to say " son, life is like a bucking bronco, it's best just to get on, grab hold tightly, hang on and ride it, shouting yee haa for as long as possible"

Today i pulled out Grandad's severely molested Dunhill White spot Shell Briar (54) (1967/1968?). I believe it was his Gardening pipe, its quite small and has had a large piece of the bowl removed, i assume it was damaged or cracked and it was cut down so it could still be used. It takes about a Pinch & a Half and still smokes OK, it does not last long though. Oh how i wish it was still fully intact. Although i am enjoying the Rattray's Royal Albert i am finding it a bit bland, i prefer a good aromatic, It will still get used up.

A good chat today with some old friends. I have had a week or so back on the pipe. I am enjoying it. Tonight my favourite smoke was a Henry Winterman Red filtered. I actually had 2. Enjoy your smokes all. Punk rock rocks

So i finished off the Rattray's Prince Albert earlier today, its been a quick learning curve, i have been a bit keen and smoked more bowlfuls than i had originally planned, saying that my packing has much improved and pipe smoking slowed to a better pace. I started to actually enjoy the PA towards the end and seemed to get more of the flavours as my smoking was not as hurried. After Finishing the Prince Albert i decided to open the Ashton's Guilty Pleasure as i do like an Aromatic and i know what to expect from the Peterson's, so i thought i would try this 1st. Up for the honors is another of my Grandfathers old pipes, a Nice Delacour Camargue Saint-Claude, its in top nick and the bowl size is just right for me, about a medium i would say. The Tobacco smelt wonderful on opening the tin although the Flakes looked quite large compared to the last tin. The pipe packed easily with a nice draw. It lit easily enough and gave off a wonderful sweet aroma, i did get the Sweet / Citrus flavours and a hit of tobacco, although it is still quite a mild smoke. This tin should last longer as my packing is better and i have slowed down. I sometimes only smoke half a bowl at a time, I just need to get back to only pipe smoking after work. On the Plus side, my cigarette smoking has reduced and i am not inhaling most of the pipe smoke but still getting the Nico hit. Enjoy your bowlfuls.

I had a Bowlful of Ashton's Guilty Pleasure in My Falcon International fitted with a Standard Rustic Bulldog. I took my time and really enjoyed it. I made a stem Filter for the first time and it seemed to work really well. Enjoy your bowlful's all.

Two bowl today in my Savinelli Poker. First was Carter Hall followed by a half bowl of Stockebyes Luxury Navy Flake. Made for a nice commute this evening.
