Well right now, all I have, are a couple of gifted Vintage Stag refurbs by Gary Carrington....One has a medium size loft and the other is a travel size...They both are Badgers and although I love the skritch of the boars; these guys are like shaving in paradise....I've piffed everything else...I guess theres a message in there somewhere... So I'm going to go ahead and vote for badger... then if/when I score a horse...If I like it better...And think that it's nice I'll vote for it twice......to nullify my badger vote and score 1for the ponies...};^D But in all fairness...if a horse brush is going to displace my badgers...it will deserve 2 votes...cause the badgers are kind of heavenly..... You want to give then a try? I have a hi and lower loft Vie-long. Looks like you need to give them a whirl.

Nah...I'm cool...but thanks for asking...You da man! I'll probably get one in a little bit...It's inevitable...but I'm so very happy with these Carrington refurbs...right now anything else would almost be redundant! I was trying to pump myself up, to cop one around my b-day time, but I splurged and dropped the hammer on a case of 158gr target ammo... ....and a few boxes of sd ammo...I think I'm entering my second childhood....I'm spoiling myself in a fashion I'd like to grow accustom to...

I originally voted for a badger because thats what I have/use at this time...but I changed my vote to boar....because if I were to recommend a brush to someone today...or buy a brush today....it would be an Omega Boar....I miss my old brush....So I guess that speaks for itself...let the brush hairs fall where they may....lol!

It is always fun to go back and see how I thought about something and compare it to what I think now. Taste and experience levels change.

I am with @shadowsdad. I like all four. Each one has their own unique qualities they bring to the table. The only down side is that the horse hair brush I have is on the small side for me, so I don't reach for it as much as the others.

Bird' one characteristic of horse is the extremely long break in time. You might think that it'll never get better but give it enough usage and it eventually does. But it takes the patience of Job to get it there.

LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN !!! By Cat, I mean me...cause I was the cat who went to the mailbox today....Check it out.... Fuzzy sent me a Vie-long Horse Hair Brush to try and a few shakes, to try out of the Clubman Musk! Might be a while before he sees this Brush again...lol! Look at how great the metal on the handle goes with my Aluminum Schick F type! A match made in Heaven! I had just shaved before going to the mailbox....But upon arriving, I still whipped up a lather immediately...This Horse tears the Williams UP! And it also is like an artist's brush at putting the lather where you want it! Yes, I did fully lather my face....twice! Feels Great! Like I remember my old favorite Omega Boar doing... Can't wait to try this out tomorrow fo real!! But today's test lathering sure has my expectations UP DERE! It's a scrubber aswell...I had just gotten a super BBS less than 30 minutes before, so I didn't want too much scritch right now....But tomorrow before my shave....I love me some scritchy exfoliating lathering....I like to lather...for awhile sometimes...and just get into it.... Thanks Fuzz Man, for this opportunity....Tomorrow's shave could very well lead to an upset in my brush vote....As I have told you guys before...I hold the Turkish Barber's opinion of Horse Now and Forever in very high esteem...Those cats give more shaves a day than haircuts... The results of whether this Spanish Horse can over-throw my previous vote...will be like what the the elephant said after relieving himself on the streetcar tracks....."this remains to be seen."... Also....I like the Clubman Musk....I'm wearing a splash now...but I had already splashed with original Clubman....So before going to bed tonight...I will splash and see how it behaves...I've always trusted that test as the best for what kind of olfactory moves a frag has....Of course after a shave is the best test for skin conditioning...

OK!!
Today was a heavy-weight "Brush-Off" at my Shave-Cave... The Vie-Long Horse that Fuzzy sent was the undisputed victor...
Thing is...my Badger is very soft and a good latherer, but I miss certain qualities that the Omega Boar offered and since I no longer have that brush...Missing those qualities has become a big thing around my cave!
Well this Vie-Long Cachurro Horse, does everything my badger does well, aswell as my badger....BUT, it also does everything my Boar did, aswell as my boar did them.....
So that makes this Vie-Long Horse Hair the reining champ around these parts, these days!

I like all four brushes but tend to stick with the synthetics for better consistency. Reading about the horse hair brushes makes me miss mine. I might have to just pick one up later to rekindle the equestrian love again.

I voted Badger, but boar would have also been true. Horse is too wimpy, must be for children. Synthetics work great, but it's hard for me to get excited about plastic bristles, I don't even like plastic handles! I like a brush that has plenty of backbone, soft tips but firm overall.

First time I have seen a horse called wimpy. Mine are alot like boar. I also prefer wood handles. Or metal.
