I picked up a WWI Auto Strop set complete with the mirror. No pics yet. Looks like it needs a good cleaning.

Ok here is a picture from the Auction on the bay. This is my second WWI set. I also have a Gem Damaskeene that is in a similar holder but does not have the mirror. Fuzzy Attachments:

I got this one in from The Bay today and got it cleaned up. The Razor looks to be in good shape and there is just what I would expect to be normal rust and such on the blade cases. The Mirror is in great shape and has Auto Strop Safety Razor stamped on the top near the hole for hanging it. Over all it is a nice set. the canvas ( I guess it is canvas) is in good shape. I notice there is an empty strap. Not real sure what that would be for. That strap is actually in need of repair. I need to get some thread the right color for that. Attachments:

Sweet kit Fuzzy! I haven't seen a khaki Auto Strop set up like that before. That mirror is in excellent condition - very nice find. The mirrors so often have blemishes and marks. The extra strap you indicate could be for another blade holder. Some of these sets intended for purchase as gifts for servicemen in WW1 had many blades with them. This 1918 ER set advert illustrates a kit with quite a heap of blades. You should think of posting a thread on this razor in the SE Boards and perhaps someone will come along with the answer!! Question - would you mind posting the patent number on the razor?

It must be 1912 month!!! I caught me an open comb!!! Not sure if it is a Dammy or not, the picture isn't quite letting me know. It does say use only with Damaskeene blades on the inside. It should be here during 1912 month - I will be sure to crack it out and give it run. Soon I will be in with the big boys of the shaving elite!! Open Comb 1912 - oh boy!! Will post pics when here - and in the SOTD!

Semogue 610 boar. 21mm knot, 45mm loft, 90% tips. Nice looking brush. I'll wash it in a minute and use it tomorrow.
