I placed an order for blades last night and got the call this morning. The lady I talked with told me that part of her job is to check and see if the folks ordering the blades have some sort of need for them. She googled my name, found my website and was actually calling to tell me how much she enjoyed reading it. So yes, I suspect it's possible that someone may be turned down for a blade order. Anyway, I won't ever need to reorder. I'll be dead long before I run out of blades.
Wow. Vewy scawy indeed!!! Kinda stalked and researched to determine suitability for a razor purchase. What the h*ll is that? She worried you gonna snort rock with it or what?? Yikes

I agree, that is disconcerting.

This was discussed recently on another site and I assume it was someone from TP who explained it. Now whether it is driven by lawyers or the go'vermin, I don't know. Anyway they're considering them to be a hazardous substance. If a child should open the package, then further remove the tape to get inside one of the boxes of blades, and then unwrap a blade they could get hurt. Sounds like water is a hazardous substance too, and food, and air, and... as long as someone can fanticize a possible negative scenario.
She also told me that they're considering selling rubber blades, at which time they'll be able to ship them anywhere.
OK, so maybe that last was me just taking this whole nonsense to extremes.
It seems to me they're trying to make a nation of pansies.

Well I am glad that they feel children shouldn't be opening boxes containing hundreds of the sharpest blades on the planet. That indeed is not good.
However, checking to see that someone has some sort of need for blades - that is silly. That will not assist with where the postman leaves the blades. Checking out somebody's website to authenticate who they are - again does squat regarding the postman. Phoning somebody up? Again, they should call the postal department. Or, indeed say that they will be shipped by a responsible shipper like UPS as maybe they have begun to do. I know to Canada they will only ship USPS - that is the way it is and I accepted that. I was lucky enough to have a friend going down, but if I didn't, oh well, out of luck.
I see no reason to be snooping around as to who is ordering blades, reading about where they live, phoning them up and talking to them - they are razor blades not Uzis. I'm sure in some states you could order one of those and they would just leave it on the doorstep.
I wouldn't want kids to get hurt either, that would be awful. But surely there is a prudent way to ship that doesn't feel like stalking.
I stand by my earlier statement - 'Yikes'!!!

If the woman who called me ever thought... anyone who shaves has a reason to buy them. Website or no website, humans grow hair that needs to be cut or it closes off our piehole and gets very unsanitary. So that pretty much includes every adult on the planet as long as they shave, even if it's just legs.
The website thing doesn't bother me. It's public and I'm right "out there" for everyone to see. In fact my webmaster specifically put me under the google eye to give me a public presence at my request. I can't complain.
Like it or not, that's the age we live in.
Heck, google has cars going around taking street views of all the homes and streets in America. Like it or not it's when we live. We don't need to worry about Big Brother, we need to be concerned about companies who willfully want to usher in and aid Big Brother.
But what about someone who isn't "out there" by choice. They want privacy so they can't shave?

OK, despite the research and whatever else TP does into buyers, the blades were delivered today after a call from our delivery person to make sure we were home to sign for them. We appreciate that, and it's just smart business.
Dick, you should have taken me up on my offer. It was just as easy to buy hundreds more and have them delivered as what I bought for myself. Now I'm done ordering for life near as I can figure between SE and DE blades. Maybe someone else will order and think to include you. Shipping is far less expensive than buying 10 packs.

I bought 200 from the UK, (connaught shaving), cheapest option for us aussies, as mail from the UK to here is fast and cheap and there's no resellers of the blades that I know of here.

I used to think the Ted Pella stainless coated were best but now I love the treets I bought from rite aid.

Do you see much of a difference in the pal blades and treet brand?

There was a nice supply of TP/EMS blades coming up frequently on these forums in the B/s/t from other members. That is where I got my supply from but must be too many of us using the injectors now and keeping what they have.
