That sounds like a good deal...Im down to maybe 15 SE blades so its time to re-order soon. However I get at least 10 shaves to a blade and dont always shave with an SE so 15 blades will probably last me more than a year

I've been getting 14 shaves per SE blade A 200 pack should last me for 8.3 Years of 100% DE shaving
At some point I'll consider my options and if I stay 100% SE I will order another 200 or so... I figure it's a good deal, they aren't going to deteriorate.

I'm pretty sure the blades at Razor Blades & More are the real deal. I've purchased them and they shave as good as other pellas I have purchased. Since I use mostly carbon blades I buy them from him now and then because I can get the small quantity. I can't believe how little it cost you for 200 of those Pellas. At that price I may need to order 200.

I figure it's a good deal, they aren't going to deteriorate. The edges do corrode over time. Oxidation and natural corrosion just work there way into that micron thin edge. It would be good to know what kind of life expectancy they do have - I am just guessing at no more than a couple of years to keep them as sharp as they should be. Anybody know about this??

I would guess that blade life expectancy depends a lot on how and where they're stored. I keep all of my blades stored in heavy duty storage bags with a couple cotton balls or desiccant packets, and most of them are stored outside the bathroom in a plastic storage container. I'd guess that blades stored unprotected in a heavily used bathroom with a lot of steam from showers, or in climates that have high humidity would probably deteriorate faster.

PTFE Coated Stainless Steel packed with a few desiccant packets in the corner of my sock drawer in the bedroom of my home in the Midwest US
I don't think I'll be taking much of a chance using a blade that's been stored several years

Cotton balls work to absorb moisture??? Yep, They used to put them in aspirin and other medicine bottles. Yeah - I have pulled out gazillions of those over the years. Ya know, I always thought it was to keep the tablets/capsules from shaking around and getting damaged through movement - it never occurred to me that it might be for moisture absorption. I guess pill bottles would need something for moisture, so cotton balls likely would also do that. Huh. Ya do indeed learn something new every day!!

Yes SS does micro corrode, but that's on an atomic level. That corrosion happens even in use, but then the magic happens. The micro oxidation stops further corrosion. I have absolutely no concern about SS blades in storage with no protection at all.
OK, in other blade types that I use which can't be mentioned, I have some that are 40 years old and they are just as good as the day they were made. Or if not as good I can't imagine how much better they were when fresh. They are really good today. The oxidation happens at a fantastically smaller scale than the sharpness of the blade edge so it's meaningless.
You can agonize about it and treat blades with whatever, but I don't worry about any of my SS blades and have yet to see any negative results. But do what makes you comfortable. I have a great deal of SE blades in storage for the shavepocalypse and I'm not worried even a tiny bit about them. Maybe keep them out of salt water, but that's about it. That reminds me, I should turn them over just in case the roof leaks; the tray they're in would hold water. If the roof in the shop leaks I'm in deeper doo-doo than just blades, but it's still worth doing.
If you do decide to use cotton as an absorbant be sure to dry it in your oven to about 300°F to get it to release it's molecularly bound water first. Do the same thing with desicant packets. Hold it there for a time, an hour or so, to make sure it's "dry". Do it in a makeshift (trashable) container just in case the outer shell melts. Of course cotton won't melt and has no outer shell.
