Thursday's ShaveProraso Pre Shave Williams B-400 by Tom Henckels Rapide Henckels Wedge CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Pinaud Vanilla I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the B-400 badger brush. I did two passes with the Henckels Rapide Razor with a Henckels wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Of the two razors in the pass around, I think I like this one better. Tomorrow, I will be shaving with the Heljestrand. It will be its last time to change my mind, but right now, the Henckels is in the lead. |

Damaskeene. Just great, two pass + BBS. Will a new Starling outperform these old blade holders?? Consider me very skeptical.  I will let you know - but 40 dollars for a Modern GEM is great, Lets see the Sabre and Rocnel all 200 plus. Many spend time hating on PAA - not saying you are :-) but Douglas has some awesome Razors, the Prismatic, DOC, Alpha Ecplictic, Bakelite OC slant and now the starling - all with great pricing. The Starling to me looks comparable to a feather weight or Pushbutton/Contour - I will find out as it arrives today. 40 bucks is not bad for a modern GEM Style SE... If you do comparisons... |

Williams Wednesday Vintage Menthol  What razor is that Jamie and where can I find one? It looks like a FHT and a Feather Weight mated and this was the love child. I like it. |

SOTD January 11, 2018 Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Proline B20 Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic Soap: Stirling Scots Pine Sheep Post: Witch hazel, Pitralon Classic aftershave WTG, touch up Nice and easy shave this morning. I finished off this sample of Scots Pine Sheep from Stirling. Nice stuff! All around good shave and the Proline blade continues to impress. Have a great day!  |

11 JanuaryPre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 25mm Synthetic, Maseto Shaving(MS) Soap: Arko/Williams mix, Homemade Stick Razor: Superior 1900 Handle: Jim Reproduction Blade: PAL (13) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Clubman Aftershave Photo:  This is the same setup as I had on 3 rd January but today it was done at home in the other bathroom that is now being shared with 3 other adults. Three passes left me with a DFS. I may have to go get some more blades from the store before the master bathroom is done though, "Oh whoa is me".

Not at all a PAA hater, I have their DEs and like them just fine. But SE razors are different animals, they don't rely on frames for rigidity, so I'm thus skeptical that any magic in materials or geometry is going to do for SEs what it can for DEs. Can't beat the price but I'm standing on sufficient inventory for a while and the only Gem SE that would interest me would be an ER '09. |

This E4 is so much more aggressive than the Personna Injector. Had just short of a BBS after one WTG pass, then went ATG to get the last bit of scruff. Smooth shave with zero irritation.  |
