Mon 3rd December. RazoRock Syn. 22mm Cyril Salter Solid soap ES Claymore V1 / EJ89 Handle Schick Proline [ 5 ] Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion With a non S/S Handle the Razor was very head heavy. As a result on the upper parts of the face that weight just annihilated the whiskers the head just needing guidance. All in all a very smooth and comfortable Shave, with a great close all round finish.

SOTD DEcember 4th Ever-Ready 1924 (Shovel Head) Gem Industrial CS blade (20 laps on CrOX, 3o Laps on linen, 30 laps on leather) Maseto Shaving Classic (30mm, Destroyer Class) Cella of Hagen Street In an attempt to use up more soap, an because my beard is now growing in faster then it ever has before I am going to try shaving daily on the week days. in today's shave I tried something that I've been wanting to try for a while now, and that is stropping a GEM industrial CS blade on CrOX to see if would help it be a little sharper and smooth out the shave a bit. So before my shave I took a new Gem CS blade and stropped it 2o times (with my Bes-Tiz blade stropper) on my balsa strop with chromium oxide, wiped the blade clean and then stropped it 30 laps on linen then another 30 on leather. Working on using up my Cella, Jeeves, VdH franken soap, I will be using it twice a week until its gone (so I can free up the tin to use with a puck of MWF). Today I used the big 30mm Maseto Finest Fan brush and super gooped the well soused soap. Loaded the blade into the brass ER1924 and away we go. Ride the cap, check! No Pressure, check! Smooth cutting, no tugging! I may be able to use these 400 blades after all! I have never been able to complete a shave with this blades before. Today I did a two pass shave, with the aggressive 1924, and it was smooth as silk! I'll try the blade again on Thursday without stropping to see how well the edge holds up. Have a great day my friends!

Tue 4th December. Omega 11126 Boar Vitos Super Red Mongoose B3 Schick Proline [ 6 ] Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion This little boar brush is excellent, with soft tips and plenty of backbone works in a good lather to the face. A shave that goes right is always a pleasure, and today was a delight as not only was the Shave smooth and comfortable, but the quality of finish was top notch. Probably one of my best ever Shaves with a Mongoose.

Wednesday, December 5 Gold Micromatic (with the bump-less base plate) with Gem PTFE (1) Haslinger Schafmilch...yep, it's not Williams, but I have it on excellent authority that a cake of Williams will arrive before my next Wednesday shave Yaqi Purple Haze Mew Brown Synthetic Thayers witch hazel (unpictured) Krampert's Finest Bay Rum Acadian Spice After Shave The Krampert's is the first A/S I've used in over 30 years. I'm going to post my experience/thoughts on it and put it in the appropriate folder on the forum....I don't want to derail the SOTD thread. But spoiler alert: this product is outstanding!!! Seriously, if you don't have any, get some....you will not regret it! Net net: it was a great shave today. I've heard people say they can tell a difference between the Gold Micromatic without bumps, and the others (mostly nickel/chrome?) with bumps. I've got both, and I guess my face (and the rest of me) is too unsophisticated to tell the difference....maybe I will someday...until then, I will thoroughly enjoy them both.
