December 19th: a great Williams Wednesday. My Dammy with Treet blade (3rd shave), Yaqi 26mm Timber Wolf (synth), Williams (of course), and finished with Krampert's Finest Frostbite. Got a close comfortable shave after 2 quick passes and a witch hazel touch-up. This was my first time trying a menthol-type aftershave, and my first reaction was "whoa, this is unusual". The feeling wasn't bad, just unexpected for a newbie to the sensation. The sensation went from a hot-cold to a soothing-cool in a few seconds, and remained for at least half an hour. While the scent does fade, I picked up a slight whiff of peppermint through most of the day, which I really enjoyed. I'm not ready to declare myself an everyday-menthol-guy, but I really liked the way it made my skin feel, so it has definitely won a spot next to my current favorite A/S, Krampert's Finest Bay Rum. Just wait til you use a menthol soap and Osage Rub! To say it is a shock is an understatement. I think I had tears, and not the ones of joy, but the other ones you have like when you bang your shin on a trailer hitch. Those kinds of tears. Trust me on this, you may need to sit a while after your first use.

Trust me on this, you may need to sit a while after your first use. Dude, you're not exactly selling it! All I'm saying is, there is a certain rush to it. Similar to eating Mexican food at the local hole in wall place that the Mexican guy you work with says is good and when you take the first bite you start sweating like a whore in church. It's that intense at first, then after about 20 minutes it's just a little less intense than being audited by the IRS...... No but seriously though, it's actually not that bad, super burst of hot-cold like you said, then it cools down quickly. I won't mix the two, but by itself it's is pleasent on the ''cooling down$.

Friday's ShaveCold Water Wash L'Occitane Shaving Soap Jayaruh #2 RazoRock Black Hawk Feather Professional CWR Florida Water My prep was just a cold water rinse. The L'Occitane Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #2 brush. I did two passes with the RazoRock Black Hawk Razor with a Feather Professional blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
