Menthol Monday's Shave
Cold Water Wash Ingram Jayaruh #2 RazoRock Black Hawk Feather Professional CWR Osage Rub My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Ingram Shaving Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #2 brush. I did two passes with the RazoRock Black Hawk Razor with a Feather Professional blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Phoenix Starling V2 razor Gem Stainless blade Renleigh SS (vintage stuff) Maison Lambert Silver Tip brush Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Clubman Reserve Whisky Woods A/S
I continue my difficult journey with SE razors. This shave ended up ok but getting there was not a lot of fun. And there was blood (not much) which is never good especially when you use blood thinners. I'll try SE's all week to see if it gets better, I hope so. Now go enjoy your day folks

December 17th: An excellent cold water two-pass shave with a witch hazel touch-up. Today's equipment was the Gem Damaskeene (closed comb), Treet blade (2nd shave), Arko soap, Yaqi 26mm Timber Wolf (synth) and finished with Krampert's Finest Bay Rum Acadian Spice. This the 5th consecutive shave with the Dammy, and if I could only ever shave with one razor, this would be my choice. Granted I don't have a lot of experience yet with many SE razors, but I didn't think anyone could take the top spot from my Micromatic -- which is still secure in the "on deck" spot.

Glad the dammy is working out for you!!!glad you are enjoying it, sometimes I get on a dammy kick and I am never disappointed. How do you like the Treet blades vs the stainless steel blades? Arko is a great performer at a great price point as well.

Mon 17th Dec. RazoRock Syn.24mm Speick Active soap Supply SE-V1 / V2 No3 plate Personna S/S [ 6 ] Pitralon Original I think it is now safe to say that for me the Hybrid Supply SE is now a good Daily Shaver. I have now had 6 great shaves with and the Personna. I will have one more before a change of Razor as I think the blade has done me proud.

Glad the dammy is working out for you!!!glad you are enjoying it, sometimes I get on a dammy kick and I am never disappointed. How do you like the Treet blades vs the stainless steel blades? Arko is a great performer at a great price point as well. I REALLY like the Treets. They feel smoother than the SS PTFE blades right out of the box -- takes my PTFE blades at least a couple of shaves before they feel "right". I've got a pension for knives -- kitchen knives, pocket knives, field knives, even a few "tactical" ones -- and my preference tends towards a higher carbon content in the steel. You have to maintain them, but I found they keep an edge better/longer and are not all that difficult to sharpen. That said, my SS PTFE blades tend to give me at least 10 two-to-three pass shaves before feeling harsh/tuggy; and I've read some comments from folks that say they get fewer shaves from their carbon blades than they do the SS/PTFE. I suspect technique, number of passes, blade maintenance and even lather/soap may play a role in blade life. So before I go and clear out every source of Treet blade within a 30 mile radius (just kidding, Fuzzy -- I'll always leave 1 pack on the shelf ), I want to get a sense of their longevity for me.

Supply V1 razor Personna blade FS Silver tip brush Taconic Eucalyptus Mint SC Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Taconic Eucalyptus Mint A/S
1st go with the Supply V1 which I just received yesterday after having won it online. It came with the "Classic" setting plate. The shave went well but, of course, I will need to familiarize myself with it more. So my week of SE's is postponed and I'll work with the Supply razor the rest of the week. And the darn thing is really heavy. Anyway, time will tell with this razor but so far, so good. Now go enjoy your day folks.
