Menthol Monday's Shave
Cold Water Wash C.O. Bigelow Jayaruh #327 Enders Speed Razor Ted Pella Personna J.A. Henckels Rapide CVS CS SE CWR Osage Rub Last night I decided to change today's line up a bit I loaded my Enders Speed Razor with a Ted Pella Peronna injector blade and backed it up with an Enders blade that I had dulled the edge on. I intended to try it out on just one cheek. My prep was just a cold water rinse. The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #327 brush. I ended up doing the whole first pass with the Enders. It was very smooth and efficient. Excellent results. Next, I did the second and final pass with the Henckels razor with a CVS CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Today's shave: bullet tip does seem to not have quite the same blade feel as the others in the series.

SE1 vs E2 / Proline. Will decide this week whether to trade my SE2 for an SE1 or just sell. I'm becoming a bit more comfortable with the weight of the ATT but remain pretty ambivalent about its advantages. Both razors do well with a single pass head ATG shave.

January 14th -- Menthol Monday Gem Heavy Flat Top (aka G-Bar) | Gem PTFE (Shave #10) | Yaqi 24mm Mew Brown Synth | Arko stick This was outing #2 for the G-Bar and I liked it slightly more than outing #1 -- really no explanation other than I think that increased usage gets me used to the tool and things just feel more "natural". It was a full 3-pass shave and I feel ultra-smooth -- probably could've easily stopped at 2 and a little touch-up, but I was having fun so I did another full-on pass. As always, I have to call out the Frostbite -- I really like it...A LOT. As for the Arko, it's a good soap, and I like it, but if I'm 100% honest, I like the Williams better. As two soaps in the "value" category, the Williams just feels slicker, has a nice understated scent, and leaves my face feeling more moisturized....and no, I'm not just sucking up to the Cartel.

Monday's shave setup I've heard about those caffinated stuff, are they any good?, Actually they work pretty well. The have some menthol which I like, but I really don't see any benefit from the caffeine.

Mountaineer Monday shave. West Virginian green clover and aloe shave soap from brookstone soaps. Rolls razor freshly stropped. I added a high polish compound to the stropping. It seems to have made it a little smoother. Atomic rocket brush and Turkish bowl. Paa clownfruit aftershave. I've tried two of brookstone shave soaps and smelled all three. There's bay rum, oatmeal and honey and green clover and aloe. The green clover and aloe is more stubborn to lather don't know why it acts thirsty then gets watery. I think it has a very narrow water level requirement. I can lather it but it takes more effort. I think it would benefit from making a slightly watery lather in bowl then rubbing soap on face and face lathering with the watery lather that's worked for another soap of mine. My science professor said the best guess in a science question is surface area. The surface area could allow more agitation.

Mon 14th Jan. RazoRock syn. 24mm EJ Cooling Menthol Schick N3 Schick Twin -Japan [ 9 ] Alcolado Glacial A/S Splash A somewhat disappointing shave from a Razor/Blade combination that normally delivers a smooth/close Shave. Quite uncomfortable working on the chin with the blade tugging, despite only on its 9th outing. Normally I would be getting around 15 without problems. Had a far more challenging Shave yesterday with a C1, but it was smoother with a superior finish.
