Come on now!!! Just how pretty can a razor get? This and the earlier model, has got to be in the top 3, and I'd have to actually see her in the 'casting shave cave' to make a final decision beyond that... and this is a WWI patent....hasn't mankind done anything since WWI to improve shaving parapharnelia? Just in.....Razorx informed me......Today is the lovely ER 1914's pat's Birthday.....March 24th 1914 !!!! "this is a WWI patent....hasn't mankind done anything since WWI to improve shaving parapharnelia?" Doesn't seem so!! "Just in.....Razorx informed me......Today is the lovely ER 1914's pat's Birthday.....March 24th 1914 !!!!"Aye Caramba - Razorx, great catch! HAPPY 99TH BIRTHDAY TO THE LITTLE LATHER CATCHER

HAPPY 99TH BIRTHDAY TO THE LITTLE LATHER CATCHERThanks RM... I picked up on that from a 1914 fan on another site but what I can't explain is the magical coincidence of my shaving with an SE razor for the first time following several weeks of captivity In Col. Shick's POW Camp on such an auspicious occasion. After almost reaching for a Streamline I happened to without realizing it...take our honored Birthday Guest out for a spin and a great time was had by all !

Thanks Gents.....It was After I shaved and had rinsed the '14 the patent date caught my eye and I when I asked my Wife what date Sunday was just for the heck of it,I was completely surprised. Hadn't used my Streamline in quite a while and it had been even longer since my last run with the '14 so I had to give 'er a run. A pleasant surprise all the way around

You don't want to deal with the fury of a razor's scorn believe me.... ....lol The coolest thing...By you having that serendipitous experience, we all benefitted, by being able to share such a hip date in razor history...and also in Functional Art Culture...they don't come any prettier... Maybe we should set up something for next year here at the board....I mean the ER 1914's 100th B-day should have a proper celebration and who better than us....?

Isn't that the fruit that that gone little dude, Jack Horner cops while he's "digging his Christmas pie.....He like sticks in his thumb and like pulls out aplomb and waxes poetic 'bout "what a crazy little cat am I"....right? (hey guys...I apoligise for the 'Bop-Corn'...but after rx & SD took it outside I couldn't resist myself.... ) Opps....apoligies for temporary hi-jack....;)Back to the business at hand... We do need to, plan something special...or figure out a way to not forget....the Lovely Little Lather Catchers 100th next year....maybe we should, once a week; count down how many weeks left or something.......lol

I love the looks of the '14, what a drop dead gorgeous razor! When I first got it I loved the shaves too but other razors just work better for me now. I still use it now and then, but not as much as when it was new. It's too mild now and I'm an aggressive razor junky. When I first read this...ha,ha and Brian made that crack about the '14 being way too mild for him, I fell out!!! lol....and the needle on my computer's testosterone meter instantly red-lined and broke through the desk-top screen, and was flopping around and twitching on my computer table like a flounder.....LOL!

:-) OK, now in my defense... That particular '14 really was mild. Up to that point it had been the only '14 I'd ever encountered. It was later found to have a malfunctioning blade holding spring inside the cover (after I sold it). The end to the story... I now have one that's fantastic and gives a great shave every time, the new owner of the once mild '14 has what he wanted, so everyone lived happily ever after.
