Well, I tried to reply w/o quoting, but that doesn't appear to be possible. I just wound up shouting into the wind twice. You can find the story about it hereHmm, no way to preview this post, so here goes... edit: I had more time to find this. If you cursor down on THIS PAGE you should see the ER'14 I mentioned.

Any of y'all that get one of these little 1914 treasures....
If you want to adjust the right and left springs that contact the spine of the blade and exert the necessary pressure that makes the blade's edge rest securely against the blade stops, remember the razor's almost 100 years old,be sure to hold a fingertip on the center of the spring where it's attached so you don't accidently break it off while tweaking the ends.

Yup, not sure whose razor birdlives is referring to but any razor I posted pales compared to Marcs. Just gorgeous.

Repairs can be very unsatisfying when this occurs. The warning here is well founded.

Any idea when they switched to the bigger blade stops? 1920 or so?

I just pick this little sweetheart up yesterday. Found it in a local shop for $15 and at that price I could not leave it behind. I used it to shave my head today and I thinks after one shave it has become my favorite safety razor. I generally use a straight on my face and a SE on my dome but I think this little 1914 will become my A#1 go to razor. I think I may be in love. Attachments:
