Tuesday, 28 February 1912 Gem Junior Gem SS/PFTE Blade (3) Made-Rite 500 PB Brush Nivea Cream Barbasol Pacific Rush I couldn't let the 100th anniversary of the Gem 1912 go by without paying homage to this great razor by acquiring one and using it. I picked up a Gem Junior on an auction site about 2 weeks ago but just had my first shave with it this morning. The head was badly bent when I received it in the mail - to the point where I couldn't load a blade. After some effort, I got it bent back and now the blade loads and is aligned perfectly. It cleaned up very nicely and is now gleaming a brilliant gold. My first shave with it was excellent - very smooth and close. Now I know firsthand what all you guys have been raving about. Welcome to the club stljeff!!!

Wednesday morning:
Last day for the 1912 month! (Yes, very enjoyable Tom!)
Hot towel face prep Vitos SIS Rooney 3/1 SS GEM Jr GEM SS ptfe (4) bay rum
One reason I like "shave months" is because they force (voluntary to be sure) me to use razors that may be out of the rotation for one reason or another, and they allow me to get to know them in a more intimate way.
So I knew I really liked the Damaskeene a lot, and I knew I liked the Jr a lot, but I never knew how much I liked the Jr. . Right now if someone were to ask me which 1912 do you like the best, I wouldn't even need to think about it- the Jr. . It's just aggressive enough to let me know it, and mild enough to always treat my bumpy, creased face in a kind manner, yet it gives a very close shave.
But 1912 month is over with this shave and I can go back to blade testing and my last razor evaluation for the foreseeable future. What a fantastic shave to end the month with. Shaving just doesn't get any better than todays shave.

See sometime us old guys know what we be talking about.... ;D I'm certain I'm as old or older than most of you guys but I guess I'm a late bloomer...or more likely a slow learner!

1912 Gem Junior Gem SS/PFTE Blade (4) Made-Rite 500 PB Brush Palmolive Shave Stick Pinaud Clubman
I'm glad that this month's salute to the 1912 motivated me to buy one of these great razors. I've finished up the month with another exceptional shave from my 1912 Gem Junior...and I'll be starting March with it as well.
